A Saskatoon wife and recovering desperately overwhelmed, working mother of one amazing daughter, I am blessed to have created the answer to the overwhelm in my home. This organizing journey has brought me from a place of chaos to calm in my own life nd can help you too.
For years I struggled with anxiety and overwhelm at home, like many of you. I couldn't understand why with only one child I still always felt at least one step behind. A messy, disorganized home, meal times were a nightmare and I was yelling at my child all the time out of my own frustration. I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone because I thought people would judge me for feeling like this when I only had one child and they were managing with 2 or 3 just fine, or so it appeared.
No one would have quessed because I put on the happy face outside of my home, and in my workplace I have always been incredibly organized and efficient. For some reason, this wasn't extending to my home.
I realized it was because at home I felt like I was responsible for it all and if I failed, then I was a bad mom and wife. One day I found myself crying at work and I wasn't even sure what for. Enough was enough!
I began to apply what made me so good at my job to my home life. Prioritization, compartmentalization and automation.
Organizing became my new coping mechanism and it worked!
Now a professional Organizer with three specialty certificates in Home Management, Residential Organizing and Workplace Productivity as well as a certification in Photo Organization, I am able to understand both the theory and practicality of how to coach women just like you on their own organizing journey.
For most women, this path is not meant to be taken alone which is why I am creating a community of like-minded women to share with, lean on and encourage one another. You are not alone and you have more power than you think!
I am committed to being real with you, offering practical solutions and sharing what I learn as I learn it. Although my life is not a perfect Instagram post and I am always working to improve, I have reached a stage where I feel much more intune with the things that I can control and have managed to create a home environment I am happy with as well as time to pursue my dream of running my own business and having more control over my future too.
If you have stuck with me this far, thank you and I hope this is just the start of our relationship. If you are looking for support in this area, check out my Manager Mom Facebook page, Free declutter self study course and other resources to come soon.
